Improve Haskell support on Ubuntuin category Applications & Software
proposed by laney on 19th September 2010 (accepted on 26th September 2010)
Project Summary
I am an Ubuntu developer working on support for the Haskell functional programming language. We currently ship one compiler, ghc6 (http://www.haskell.org/ghc), in the distribution. Upstream only provides official support for x86 and x86_64, and enables support for other architectures on a best-effort basis.
I'd like to investigate the current state of the compiler and associated library and application ecosystem on Ubuntu with a view to improving performance and coverage. None of the developers in either Ubuntu or Debian have access to ARM hardware to do any kind of testing (besides build testing) on. There are a few ARM specific build failures which don't appear on the common architectures that it would be good to squash, for example.Project Blog Entries
