Gentoo/ARM support

in category Linux Distributions
proposed by maekke on 2nd January 2010 (accepted on 2nd July 2010)
Project Summary
We're currently supporting the ARMv5 architecture and looking ways to
expand our support to all kind of devices where our users want to put
Gentoo on. This includes the newly appeared ARM netbooks, based on an ARMv7 core.

We would like that our users will be able to use the powerful extensions that such a processor gives versus ARMv5.

  Efika MX Gentoo status update
posted by maekke on 3rd October 2010

Hello

my Efika MX got here quite some time ago and I've successfully installed Gentoo on an SD-card, with some help from darkside's guide.

So far, I've used it for parts my "regular Gentoo work", which is arm archtesting. It's nice to have a HDMI output, which I connect to a DVI display - like that I was able to successfully test and mark stable gnome-2.28 on arm.

Once again, thanks you Genesi for providing me an Efika MX, it's a really nice piece.
