OK,

Here is the exact error when I try to build the "evas" package,
Getting bored...
And of course it compiles well with a make as told before.
If you look at configure error you can see that the option -mcpu=pentiumpro which is wrong on a Pegasos !
It seems to be a CFLAGS problem (wrong architecture selection).

And another strange thing are all those unrecognized tools :

I've found a way to fix it :

in debian/rules there is a flag -mcpu=pentiumpro which I've replaced by -mcpu=$(EVAS_ARCH) and now it seems to work...

Well I can compile it with ./autogen.sh && make and it runs ok for me.

But I wanted to make a debian package, and right now I'm completly strucked on "evas".
I've found somebody else who had exactly the same problem.

I can fix a few problems by modifiing the "debian/rules" file but it ends with
/tmp/ccMShMWC.s:171: Error: Unrecognized opcode: `pxor'.

I've tried to upgrade my edb and eet libs also as evas and nothing better

@frostwork : did you use CVS version or snapshot ?

I've finally succeded in building all the packages for a deb distribution !

It wasn't very easy and was quite long...
I've fixed the evas problem but I don't know really know how.
I've taken the last evas available version on CVS, and removed a few flags in debian/rules (enable-mmx, enable-sse and mcpu=pentiumpro).

Then I thought "now it's going to be easy"... Wrong !
I also had to get and compile a recent version of xine-lib (V1.1.1) to make "emotion" module compile.

Now all the modules are built.
All the libs are the latest available on January 14th 2006.
Those will soon be available on my website so everyone can make an apt-get to install e17 !

I have to check first that everything goes well on a fresh installed Ubuntu to make the link public.

OK, the packages are available now.

I've tested it with a fresh Ubuntu installation and it works great :

Edit your /etc/apt/sources.list and add :
deb http://wikipeg.free.fr/pegubuntu pegubuntu main

Save the file then do
apt-get update

Then to install (approx 48Mo) :
sudo apt-get install libedb1
sudo apt-get install enlightenment

Close your session. Now you should have "enlightenment" in the possible sessions types.

To add your KDE & GNOME menus :
sudo apt-get install libengrave0
sudo apt-get install e17-pegasos
sudo e17genmenu

A few changes to this fast tutorial or e17genmenu won't work properly :
So after :
sudo apt-get install libedb1
sudo apt-get install enlightenment

do :
sudo apt-get install libe libe-dev libecore0 libedb1 libedb1-dev libedje0 libedje0-dev libeet0 libeet0-dev libemotion0 libemotion0-dev libengrave0 libengrave0-dev libepeg0 libepeg0-dev libepsilon0 libepsilon0-dev libesmart0-dev libevas0 libevas0-dev libewl0 libewl0-dev imlib2-loaders ewl0-bin esmart0-bin epsilon0-bin epeg0-bin edje0-bin edb-tools

Then :
sudo apt-get install e17-pegasos

Then run it : "sudo e17genmenu" and wait...

Then you can remove /usr/share/xsessions/e17.desktop as there is a similar file installed by apt-get install in the same dir.

for the sources : well, normally they should be included. But I can add all the tar.gz if you want...
But before I have to finish an update of the Pegasos book (french & english versions) as Ambient changed a lot those last days
