I brought my EFIKAs to Linux Academy, a one week long Linux course for sysadmins in Hungary. The smartbook with the demo image was a huge success, especially that I was lucky enough to download it with Flash included :)

- the GUI is fast
- chromium is fast (a lot faster than firefox on the same machine)
- watching youtube full screen rocks :)

On the hardware side:

- it's light (about the same wight as the battery pack for my Intel desktop replacement laptop...)
- it's silent

Bye,
CzP

Is this image no longer available? I get an HTTP Error 500 when I go to the original link for the image.

This is what came on my Smartbook, and not thinking properly, I installed the Ubuntu image without making sure I had a backup to re-install the "dock" image.

It works again now. When we updated PowerDeveloper.org a week ago, we mistakenly enabled an old debug feature of the website that had caused problems with our downloads before.

Natty with Unity is where the Efika needs to be heading.

Your feedback is appreciated but Unity has not been particularly popular. The simplified dock-centric user interface mentioned in the original post, on the other hand, has received a fair amount of positive feedback due to the perceived high level of familiarity.
