Hi

I have an efika with debian running as file server and im quite satisfied.

Time ago, i added a Silicon Image 3114 card pci card, thus the default kernel in efika.de supports it (whic is the one im using).

Latter upgraded to lenny using apt dist-upgrade, but i assume the kernel is still unchanged.

I do know that MCP DMA engine support is fuck*ed, but i have heard that enabling DMA for the Silicon Image sata discs is possible.

Anyone care to share that info with me?

Thank you in advance.

PS: If i dont get a few more MB/S from the sata discs i would have, sadly, to replace my beloved and nice looking efikas.

hi,
i guess a modern kernel could really help.
Here you can find a useful topic about SATA drives on EFIKA PowerPC with some benchmarks:
