Hi board,
I would like to know if someone could tell me why the project called "Efika, from the home to the road" still remain in the proposed section and was not accepted.

Thanks in advance.

Because we are not accepting projects until we have got all the building blocks for the program ready.

It is a busy time, there is a lot to do. I at least personally want a ready, cleanly compiling XGI driver set (the one hosted here lapsed slightly in the last few kernel versions and we are basing around 2.6.22 at the moment) for developers before we give them boards and approve projects.

We also have an idea to shift the projects to a "bounty" style system. There would be no reward, just a set number of projects you can "sign on" for and gain access to the board and extra documentation without needing to come up with a great idea (you would have to do work on that project though!)

I don't think we had too much success with the free-for-all model. Not enough important work gets done and not enough teams of developers were created, it is too independant and self-contained. So, if we give some very big ideas on projects and developers are excited, they can sign up for that project and get a board to work on it.

Other projects would also be accepted too, but I think we would prioritise bounties over independant projects unless they were very very interesting.

That is the plan, but it is not quite ready yet.

We definitely need to get this moving. We will send one each to Jacek and Michal (kiero) for this event:

It is time to see some great "demos" on the EFIKA as we did for the Pegasos.
