At last IBM have included a mozilla plugin in their JDK. I've tested it on Fedora Core 4 and it seems to work fine even without the JITC_PROCESSOR_TYPE hack.

You can get it from here: http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/j ... java5beta/

Then symlink /opt/ibm/java2-ppc-50/jre/bin/libjavaplugin_oji.so into /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and restart firefox, and Java should work.
