The new Freescale imxcommunity.org website is now live. Please visit the site. We have added a icon/button link on the left below. We are not sure yet if this site will or will not be another power.org, but it does not seem so. The Freescale folks have been very motivated and there are many more Freescale employees participating in the beta phase than there were IBM people in the entire history of power.org. It has another purpose than this site and so we hope you will join and participate. Please check out the Genesi Products section!

R&B :)

I think the same. It's actually a social CMS system, so it has lots of functions to provoke communication. It already looks crowded, compared to PowerDeveloper lately!

Seems like a good start.

Sure. Let's hope interest is kept in the long run. When you stress the social factor too much, leaving debate and projects behind, people grow tired soon, because there's nothing really compelling to come back daily. This must not become another "hello" web site, engineers must show up.

Then the fun begins.

I must admit, that social networking never impressed me, even if I acknowledge its popularity (did not say importance on purpose...). I never read twitter and registered to facebook only to see some friends and family pictures :-) But imxcommunity.org is something interesting to check regularly, as I learned here about some pretty interesting developments:

One was under the Genesi products group: http://imxcommunity.org/group/genesipro ... -appliance which is just amazing!

The other is a link to some Freescale blogs: http://imxcommunity.org/forum/topics/re ... oncepts-of which showcases some very interesting design studies.

It really is, but what else would you expect from Michael Grunditz? Great job:

Browse the web in three seconds from powering on the Efika MX! The Qt Linux Distribution soon to be available will include a WebKit based browser. The embedded Qt environment starts directly at boot time, so there is no need for the extra overhead of Xwindows
Way cool, having this GUI toolkit available since boot. I've heard that Qt implementation is horrible in Windows, buty if it enables this, then you have product!

I suppose the handsome blonde girl has nothing to do with that interest...

See? Social networks make for unexpected interests!
