On the ps2dev board some people claim hardware accelerated rendering is possible already with the rsx: http://forums.ps2dev.org/viewtopic.php?t=9429 the first hardware acceleration homebrew. (not even linux is needed.) It is a pitty the ps3 consumes so much energy. |

IMHO SONY has reduced the power consumption of the current PS3.I have heard the new 65nm and 45nm CELL chips have very low power consumption. When SONY starts using them the power consumption of the PS3 should be no issue. Cheers Gunnar |
