The openSUSE team is now participating in Google Summer of Code (GSoC). openSUSE is being ported to ARM (see my related posts at
http://www.powerdeveloper.org/forums/vi ... php?t=2161 ). Most of this work is done in the openSUSE build service, which is available at
https://build.opensuse.org/ Currently it uses x86 and PPC nodes and runs arm compiles under qemu. ARM build hosts are relatively slow compared to these machines, but some packages can only be compiled on "real" ARM hw.
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GSOC_20 ... scheduling is a GSoC idea for better supporting ARM in the build service by routing part of the packages to real ARM hw instead of Qemu. Please check the ideas page and apply at openSUSE if you are interested in this project!
