After some delay (I was far away from my machines for a while), here is a large update. Most media players and related libs were updated during this time and now available at the usual locations for all three distro versions.

One package is still building: llvm, which is huge and slow to compile. It should be there this evening.

No chance to have Avidemux precompiled?

I'll give it another try. Last time I tried it, a dependency did not compile...

BTW: I had yet another large update at the beginning of the week, I just forgot to post about it here...

Sorry, but no luck. A dependency does not compile. When I eliminate it from the avidemux spec file, then some other (untrelated) parts of avidemux fail to compile.

However, thanks for having tried!

mmh, here avidemux works then it's not arch related. Hope this helps.

In both cases compiling failed in Altivec related code. But the problem might be SuSE specific, as some other packages also fail to compile when it comes to Altivec. And the same packages compile fine on Gentoo.

Recently I spent too much time getting known with my iMX515 board, and did not follow recent Packman updates. Today I compiled and uploaded a large update, Audacious 2.0, new xine-lib and vlc, and many small support libraries updated.

Some of these updates aren't available for openSUSE 10.3 (like Audacious), as Packman uses all the latest versions, which sometimes simply don't compile on older releases.

This week brought some important upgrades: vlc 1.0.0 was released (which was reported on just about any sw related news sites) and also audacious 2.1.

Both were upgraded only for openSUSE 11.0 and 11.1, as 10.3 is getting too old to maintain the latest packages...

VLC, mpd, and many smaller support libraries are in todays update. I did not test it yet, but VLC should be able to play MIDI files.

Another big update for all three openSUSE versions, smplayer, mpc, mpd, mpg123 and some libs.

Please note, that security updates for 10.3 will be discontinued soon, and by the same time I'll also stop compiling 10.3 packages. From the announcement:
Quote:
SUSE Security announces that openSUSE 10.3 will be discontinued soon.
Having provided security-relevant fixes for two years, we will stop
releasing updates after October 31st 2009.
The whole announcement is available at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-anno ... 00008.html
