Hi.
Just a couple of questions regarding updates...
As far as I understand the version of Ubuntu that is installed on Efika smartbook is discontinued since April 2012 and so there will be no more updates. Is that correct?
And the second question, is there any way to update aside of repository? Like if I want to update my Firefox, can I get it anywhere?

Will appreciate any help :)

Even if it's not official I switched to this Debian image: http://www.powerdeveloper.org/forums/vi ... php?t=2262 as security updates are still published regularly and in functionality it's quite similar to the official image. Only it feels a bit faster, as there is no Ubuntu sound theme enabled & co :-)

Nice, maybe I'll switch too then.
Just a couple of questions though... Does this image have the same functionality as official image when it comes to sound and video? I'm also using my Efika to watch some videos and that's only possible if there is hardware acceleration enabled.

Yes, it does. you shouldn't see any difference between maverick and my squeeze image when it comes to audio and video playback. in some cases it may be a tiny bit faster.

Last official image from October. Feels kind of abandoned?

Is Genesi still here? Awfully quiet, on all fronts...

Oh, that's great! Thanks for clarifying.
I think I should definitely try it then.

Just in case anyone had problems on the smart top when switching to full screen playing videos
take a look at http://www.powerdeveloper.org/forums/vi ... 262#p16562

if not then don't worry about it.
