I've read that the debug boards are no longer available. Without one, is there *any* way to get a serial console on an EFIKA MX smarttop?

I've got plenty of TTL-to-USBserial adapters and such, and if the right pins or connections are available I can rig something up.

Hi Bill.

I'll see if I can get you a basic schematic, or at least the pin-out from the connector the debug board normally plugs into.
I believe you can rig something up with an FT232 or so.

Of course, doing this would not be officially supported by Genesi and would be at your own risk.

The pin-out would be great; I can work with that. I don't expect any warranty support; I mostly just want to be able to work with the console directly and do so at my own risk. :D Thank you.

...we found a debug board for Bill and it is being sent to him.

That said, if you absolutely need a debug board NewIT is the primary source today. NewIT is doing an outstanding job supporting the Efika MX Community from the UK.
