To surf the Internet or send and receive e-mail messages, you must have configured an Internet connection with YaST as described in Section “Network” (Chapter 1, Installation with YaST, ↑Start-Up) or in Section “Configuring the Network Card with YaST” (Chapter 20, Basic Networking, ↑Reference). Depending on your environment, select whether to use NetworkManager or the traditional method. For a list of criteria that help you to decide which method to use, refer to Chapter Managing Network Connections with NetworkManager (↑Start-Up) and Section “Integration in Changing Operating Environments” (Chapter 9, Mobile Computing with Linux, ↑Start-Up). If you use NetworkManager, establish and manage Internet connections in KDE with the KNetworkManager desktop applet. Find detailed information in Chapter Managing Network Connections with NetworkManager (↑Start-Up).
