	Project Proposal Efika 8610 book project aim : The aim of the Efika 8610 book project would be to extend the current Efika book to the new Efika 8610 board. So this would be either a complete new ebook or a book containing information about the two boards. For Genesi or Freescale it can be a way to show all the board's features and potential to possible clients and third parties... For the users, this book is a good way to start with an Efika board. Information about the actual Efika (5200B) book The Efika book is a free multi-language electronic book dedicated to the Efika 5200B motherboard from Genesi. It contains information about the Efika hardware, it's setup and it's supported operating systems (Linux & others). The philosophy of the ebook consists of : - gathering all available information about the 5200B board usage (technical but also commercial) - making a clearly-understandable document for the end-user - being translated in several languages - being free and downloadable For example, the Efika book is currently available in several languages : - English - French - Japanese - Polish - Italian - Swedish - Czech All above translations are handled by a community of passionated users on efika.org. Other translations are scheduled : - Russian (very early version already available) - Dutch - German - Greek - Portuguese - Romanian - Spanish - Turkish The current Efika book V1.5 contains information about : I) The Efika 5200B hardware : - Efika 5200B motherboard history, specifications and product versions - Genesi's products based on the Efika 5200B board - Hardware compatibility and setup (supported graphic cards, PSU, storage, hardware setup...) II) The Efika 5200B firmware and software : - Genesi firmware usage - Linux Operating system specificities of the board - Installation instructions of various GNU/Linux distributions (Debian, Gentoo, OpenSuse, Ubuntu, EdUbuntu and Crux) - Usage ideas examples (Using a Nintendo Wiimote with an Efika, building up a media center combined with another computer like a Pegasos..)
