Project Proposal
A low wattage 10" multimedia frame based on the Efika 5121E.
This idea started with building a picture frame based on the
Efika 5200B, but turned out to become a real multimeda terminal
and/or small home server. See former Efika
5200 project blog and

for the first frame based on the Efika 5200B.
With the Efika 5121E the design can be greatly simpfified and also
nicely enhanced. A design based on the 5121 will become a lot cheaper
(many parts can be saved), much thinner, will take less energy and
will offer more connectivity (most important: usb2 conveniently offers
the bandwidth to use WLAN).
The AXE unit of the 5121 may help to push overall throughput
significantly forward and help to provide high quality simultaneous
heavy networking and video playback (DVD quality).
Best OS choice: MorphOS or Linux.
Note: This proposal is rather based on the Efika 5121 by bplan/Genesi
and not on th early dev boards. I thus apply for a batch of accepted
project once the Efika 5121 by bplan/Genesi is available.
