Hello!

I have the following problem:

I`am a newbie to linux and want to install
YellowDog on a Pegasos1. The install-instructions
found on the web are written for people,
who already have a working Linux on their
Peg, but I have only some boot images from
Debian. These come with no bzip2 packer to
unpack the YDL4 file). My questions:

-can I mount a AmigaFFS partition in a
shell of the small Debian image? I`ve tried
it with mount -t affs (or asfs) /dev/hdxx /target ,
but it doesnt work.

-can someone give me a bzip2 executable for
this small Debian image, that I can unpack
the bz2-compressed YellowDog-Image on the
Linux-native partition?

YDL4 on pegasos 1, i think that has never been tried, and not sure if it will
work until you upgrade the firmware, but the new one you would need is not yet
released. X may lookup in the default configuration too.

Try modprobing the affs or asfs modules first.

No idea what installer images you are speaking about, but apt-get install
bzip2 should do in most cases.

Yes, but the instructions are only for a
existing (Mini-)Linux.

And the link to the Image-InstallerSE_CD
is dead. I will try it now with the download
of the "Update ImageInstallerSE".
