I had to reinstall my linux due to some bad changes after install the first time. So i decided to reinstall it. Now when the base system is about to be downloaded or installed i get the following error:
file released signed by unknown key () Within the brackets is an hexidecimal code. Is there a key inside DI_EFIKA that needs to be updated? It worked like a charm 3 days ago. |

searching on the inet i found several references about the debian packages being protected by keys also some showed the same key. Unfortunately the solves involved command that are not yet available.
Using CTRL+ALT+F3 is got to an commandline and did some more browsing. In /usr/share/keyrings i found an file called archive.gpg. Hmm what would happen i delete it using rm archive.gpg. Now try again and the base install seem to go along this time.
Now i have to find out how to install an unstable system by default as to an stable release as i want to use xorg instead of xfree86 |

The weekly builds have been affected by a few bugs in the last couple of weeks, but should now be stable and useable again. We've had to move from using etch d-i RC1 to the daily d-i sid builds for a while. This is because of a key expiry in the archive. |
have you tried again today ? |

I tried 3 days ago and I'm having the same problem.
The first time i installed it (two weeks ago), everything works perfect.
But as i didn't low format my hard drive, i was unable to see my linux partition and unable to make it boot on an automatic way.
I was starting my debian by booting the kernel through my usb key.
I low format it and tried to install again debian.
But as mvdhoning, when the base system is about to be downloaded or installed i get the following error:
file released signed by unknown key
So impossible to continue the base install .....
Please, a little help would be cool ....
Do others people are having this problem actually ??? |

I am still having this problem as of 13:30 UTC today. As suggested above though, removing archive.gpg from /usr/share/keyrings fixes the problem. _________________ --

No, despite removing the archive.gpg, the installation went on, but I got additional Debootstrap errors with other packages (e.g bash) and gave up.
Will try with updated di_efika now. |
