Does the HDMI connection on the Efika MX smarttop support CEC (Consumer Electronics Control)? If so, does Linux even support it? I've only seen this proposal for a kernel module and this library, which seems to be specific to a single device. I can safely say that it didn't work out-of-the-box, but before I sink a bunch of time into trying to get it to work, I figure I should ask first if the hardware even supports it.

I did ask about this since I didn't know myself. the answer I got was the hardware does support it. but as you found out there is no standard way to do it in Linux. you are pretty much on your own on this one.

If you do get it working it would be nice to see what you did.

Hmm...good news and bad news I suppose. I'll see if I can figure something out. It would be nice to have...

Pulse-Eight CEC adapter seems to be a nice device and very well supported! Really a smart project.
There is also a video with an Omap3 board using it.
