Hey all,

I'm new to the forum but I've been reading posts and comments for a while and I finally registered. I have been playing around with android 2 (initial demo release) on my smartbook since it became available. I haven't been able to get the newest demo, android 4 ics, to boot. I get a blank screen and the SD light flashes twice. I loaded the img file the same way I did android 2. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the img to boot on the smartbook?

I'm not a hardcore kernel dev but I dabble and I'd be interested in joint the android mailing list. Thanks

Hi!

Unfortunately, the kernel that is used for the 4.0 demo does not have much of the smartbook support in it. Once we are further along, we will look at adding support for the smartbook hardware.

I think it is a great drawback of Android that its latest updates aren't available for all devices. Do you agree?

There is still no video driver for 3.x for the smartbook. It could probably be hacked in based on the patches that sascha and arnaud (rtp) had done, however that is not something that we will be doing. We plan on working on this, but we have no ETA.

It is Google's policy that makes people buy more and more gadgets to stay updated.
