I'll make this a brief check-in.

Liking the July 2011 build of Maverick. Huge improvement in video playback, seems a bit more responsive all around, but video performance is a night and day difference.

After my de-fattening of Ubuntu, my battery life was never bad to begin with, but has significantly improved.

As of this writing, my smartbook has been running on battery for 14:47 so far. The battery light only started to flash 20 minutes ago. That's right, I've been running just a quarter short of 15 hours on a single charge. :o

This has to be some kind of record...

This is the most amazing piece of hardware I have ever owned.
Pity? I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Daily Driver: Genesi Efika MX Smartbook. Sunday Driver: IBM Model 5160. Other computers: None needed. :)

Which packages did you add/remove? Was there anything you did to make it run faster/longer?

It's basically just Maverick's base system with xorg and wicd. I compiled QuarkWM and minitube on top of that. Not anything really all that groundbreaking, just a little bit of applying the KISS principle. I give the hardware most of the credit, though. :) Just ARM being ARM.

(Thank you Freescale! Thank you Genesi!)
