LLVM: the complete FreeBSD base system can be built now with LLVM: http://www.freebsd.org/news/status/repo ... ase-system and http://wiki.freebsd.org/BuildingFreeBSDWithClang The ARM port needs some help. FreeBSD is not yet ported to iMX515, so that would be a first step :-)
Sorry about the recurring LLVM-centric highjacking, but Clang can handle boost now - a little step for Clang, a giant step for the (performance) computing world (as that should finally unleash LLVM ; )

That's good news! Will you make a download-able image available?

Are you also working on Android 2.2? That could be very interesting because of the Flash support and of course the performance enhancements too.

Related news: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/06/14/ubuntu_tablet/ If Genesi did a tablet, there won't be a ready made Ubuntu for that, but rather Android.

Flash support for Android is provided by the carriers and Google, not just some downloadable file. It relies on chip-specific features and support libraries you just don't get in the mainline Android..

Better for a tablet than Android is ChromeOS which is due in the "late Fall". Android really has no space outside of mobile phones with - while increasing in size - ridiculously small display resolutions (pretty much the best you can hope for is 800x480 which is okay for some tiny Java app or mapping but it's not competing with the iPad)
