Genesi was recently certified on a number of 32bit and 64bit PowerPC platforms for MySQL 5.0 on Linux (link). If you are using MySQL 5.0 for an application environment you are managing, please send us an email. We may have some hardware for you.

MySQL runs nicely on PowerPC. I use it on a daily basis, as it is the database back end behind the openSUSE Build Service, which I use to compile packages.
