The CRUX ARM Team is now able to provide a full EfikaMX (i.MX515) support.

Interesting! :-)

But please define "full"? Like complete HW acceleration?

no, sorry. There isn't yet included a specific xorg driver.

There are some ports which should add imx xorg driver support now.

http://crux-arm.nu/gitweb?p=ports/efikamx.git;a=summary

All kind of feedback is welcome. They are only tested using a vnc connection and seem to work right, but soon they will be tested in a 42" lcd display (smarttop tests)

We need to deploy a newer test release which adds preprocessor symbols for gcc 4.5.2 (used in the next 2.7 release, for newer ones we should put hands on hardfp together with acrux's work)

Just one minor nitpick, I'm not extremely familiar with CRUX, but how do you handle licensing? Freescale have said that they don't mind people mirroring the tarballs, but you MUST show the Freescale EULA to users and they have to accept it. I can't see anything in the packages about accepting the license.

Hello Stephen,
thank you very much for your work and your reply to this thread.
I didn't know about that licensing problem that could be related to ports. Those aren't packages (CRUX is source oriented), these are the ports to build the packages. They pick source tarballs from the remote sites (they are shown in the source= header in the Pkgfiles). We don't host any source or packages (related to closed video driver) but if building ports can be a problem with licenses, we'll remove them.
I hope you can confirm this like a problem to remove all this work as fast as possible.
Regards, Victor.

As long as there is some way to show the Freescale EULA or make sure they accept it(in Gentoo we have a LICENSES variable, alternatively having the user download the files and put them in place manually) there shouldn't be any issues; I'm not a lawyer though, that's just what I was told when I asked wrt splitting out the packages for users to make it easier to install.

Thank you again for this explanation Stephen. We'll change al those ports to let users get the sources theirselves to build them.

well, a README file it's enough, imho.
If the end user does agree then he can choose to download the binary if available from the vendor.
