Trying the gentoo usb install method i get stuck.
I downloaded the precompiled kernel. and the minimal iso. I extracted image.squashfs and livecd. With my usb harddrive being fat32 i renamed image.squashfs to squashfs.img. Now all files end up all upercase.
SO i have
EFIKA
LIVECD
SQUASHFS.IMG
so i gues i have to boot it like this:
boot hd0:0 EFIKA init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0 looptype=squashfs loop=/SQUASHFS.IMG cdroot
after booting the kernel i get the message that no valid root device is found is also goes trying to boot all my partitions.

I'm not sure any precompiled kernel has ever worked booting "Live" from a USB stick. We always had problems with the FAT filesystem - either filenames, or not being automounted, or myriad other things.

Get one of the Gentoo guys to look at it, but in my experience, none of them care about this boot method.

At me a similar situation.

All has made according to the instruction which are being from http://gentoo-wiki.com/Efika
As a result has received the same result, to be exact its absence. Here a photo:

Somebody installed Gentoo on Efika???
