I used a 16GB SD card. I tried dd twice, first with the option bs=8192, then without it. Efika MX did not start up with it and crashed twice.
Here are the md5sums for the compressed and uncompressed image, could you please check if they are the same?

Ok, after some delays and some package fiddling, here is the first SD card image with the 3D binary drivers from Freescale, rebuilt for hardfloat:

Enjoy!
No joy here... Here's the log:

Just wanted to report that while I've not been able to boot the image on a Smartbook, it booted just fine on the Smartop. Have not tried looking into the Smartbook boot logs as my dbg board is somewhere in a box for a pending move to a new apartment.

Ok, I have reproduced the issue here, it happens on some of my systems -but not all, hence why I wasn't able to check it initially. Will look into it and will publish a new fixed image asap. Apologies for the inconvenience.

I thought, that I'm also affected, but after watching the blank smartbook screen for a while I got a login screen :-)

What was problematic for me, and should not be affected by the slow SD card I use, that the wifi takes ages to connect. It's just a few seconds from my SuSE/Intel laptop and also from the smartbook when running the Maverick image.

I plan to use the Debian ARMHF as a host, until the new openSUSE ARM port becomes self supporting. "osc", the openSUSE build service client is part of Debian :)

Do you remember how long you waited before the Smartbook finally booted?

1 minute and 50 seconds. Which is a fair time for booting, but quite a long time staring at a completely black screen :-)

Unfortunately, no luck waiting with the armhf sd card on my smartbook, even after 45 minutes.

have some try to install any other OS? is there any other debian image that works? I've been out of efika MX from some time due to work, but know I'm trying to reconfigure it or reinstall some other operating system. As ubuntu is not what need. I would like to install a OS just with the shell, because the desktop is not working so fine.

Thanks.

Hi.

The ArmHF image should work fine:

http://www.powerdeveloper.org/platforms/efikamx/linux

Also, there is this:

http://www.powerdeveloper.org/forums/vi ... php?t=1975

It's Ubuntu, but you start out with a shell - you can install other GUI's etc.

You can also check out Bodhi:

http://www.powerdeveloper.org/forums/vi ... hp?p=15740

And there is OpenSUSE:

Would it be possible to get a new debian armhf image set up for the official repos, or possibly a nice howto on switching repos ? I'm still pretty much a novice when it comes to debian.
