KIWI uses syslinux & grub1, which are both hard coded in the spec files and sources. As a first step, these must be removed or rather just made conditional, then as a next step, add a few PowerPC specific things, like mkzimage. So basically the booting part must be changed, but that completely. As far as I can remember, it's written in Perl.
Is there an SVN or CVS online repo that can be browsed? I'm reading the PDF but not that detailed.. although its hosted on Berlios am I gonna be lucky and the files are there? :D
As far as I'm concerned there are only 2 ways you can write a system build tool - like Gentoo Catalyst where it builds from source or Debian/Ubuntu debootstrap where it fetches packages and builds a root filesystem. KIWI can't be too different.
Specs can be changed and mkzimage could be added as a post-build step. I just want a quick browse without installing a SuSE system (my Efika is, yet again, building..)
