We wrote a blog about it this morning. You may also find the business plan interesting. It is all there:

I sincerely hope that it will sell like hot cakes (actually it will, there is no competition any more :-)

Can't wait to get one on my hands :-)

Any news about the OSW? Pricing, Specs?
How to order, where to buy, availability?
Which OSes are running?

Regards
Karl

All the news you want will be right there on the order page.

This may be a stupid question, but this TetraPower 970MP looks very similar to what I thought the Open Server Workstation would have. Are the TetraPower and OSW the same hardware, and if not then what are the differences between the two? This weekend is the first time I've ever heard the TetraPower name.

EDIT: I just found the price for TetraPower... obviously this is not the OSW.

Unfortunately it is exactly the same (TetraPower is our new name for the motherboard. Tetra being greek for "four", Power.. well, it is a Power Architecture processor).

Right now, we're evaluating the market for resellers and looking for someone someone to do a Virginia Tech style case study with us. This will fully validate the design and prove out a market.

Sorry if "it will be on sale" was a teeny bit misleading :)

While technically the OSW is on sale, I seriously thought that I would have an order placed for my new computer this week (for something closer to the OSW target price given a while back). I even prepared my wife for the big hit on the credit card :D... but not as big of a hit as what we see the current TetraPower evaluation board at. I've gone without a real computer for too long (about a year and a half) to wait another year for this to be released as a consumer/developer machine. This T40 laptop is great and all but it just doesn't cut it for some things.

Can I register somewhere thus, that when you have it, I can buy it right away and you inform me via E-Mail when that happens?

I.e. can I preorder OSW?

If you are genuinely interested in the OSW, we are working with a small group of partners that include corporations and developers. Please send us an email to learn more:
