It seems that the new ps3 slim models do not support the otheros feature anymore. That would mean no more linux on the new ps3 models. With the pricedrop and it taking a lot less energy i thought about buying one, but now i am not sure...

The good thing though is that the original PS3 should be on sale on eBay and until Christmas (when stock dies) for discount prices in comparison - nobody except Linux geeks will want one. Everyone who isn't, might even upgrade and sell their old box.

I'm bugging a friend to see if he wants to get rid of his old PS3 :D

i think the device itself is quite alright. it's the company behind it that's disappointing. then again, they have a bottomline to upkeep, so no $300 powerbox for us, i guess.
