As reported in my blog, this Friday I gave a rather long (3.5h without break :) talk at the IT department of the University of Peiraeus.

The talks are here (PDF) or here (ODF)

Feel free to reuse the material in any way you would like (I borrowed some nice Cell diagrams myself from some IBM/Cell sites for the purposes of explaining to the students :), a mention though would be nice. Call it BSD or CC license, I'm not that fanatic about licensing :)

Nice one, but not much about digital signal processing (You've mentioned image processing, but it is only one branch...). I guess it is because this presentation is a general one, not going down into details.

Heh, it also has to do with the fact that I'm not into image processing myself, so I didn't have much material. Also, it would mean that the talk would also take much more than 3.5h -admitedly there were lots of questions, which probably explains it, but I doubt I could say all this stuff sufficiently explained in less than 3h...

Hi.

Nice overview.

If digital signal processing would have been part of it, it would probably be more than 8 hours instead of 3 :-) Heck, you can fill 3.5 hours with just SIMD.

Nice reading, even for those, who are not programmers, but would like to know more about how a computer and software on it works.
