Here right after the "robin hood" screen is displayed, it crashes: "segmentation fault".

Peg2-G3
Radeon 7500
Debian

The game will die after the Robin Screen
if you have no working alsa sound.

Do you have working alsa sound?
If not please run alsaconf to set it up and try again.

Seg fault could be a RAM issue. You may have Ram that is not working 100 percent and never stress tested it enough in Linux to find out. Try swapping Dimms.
